The radically-designed high-altitude research aircraft and launch vehicle was designed by Burt Rutan and manufactured by Scaled Composites Inc. At the beginning of each of SpaceShipOne’s record-breaking flights, White Knight lifted the nearly 8,000-pound craft to a launch altitude of 8.7 miles. This unique aircraft was given to the Flying Heritage Collection. We were responsible for rigging and hanging the SpaceShipOne replica in the main FHC building and then, at a later date, lowering it and moving it to the second building where it is displayed with the White Knight. We designed and fabricated all components required to suspend White Knight One and SpaceShipOne and we suspended both aircraft.
